As we look back on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for our patients, our dedicated team, and the Louisville community. This past year wasn’t just another chapter in our story—it marked our 41st year as a medical practice and our 10th year as a premier Clinical Trials site.
From groundbreaking research to everyday patient care, here is a look at what we achieved together this year.
Excellence in Patient Care & Satisfaction
Our mission has always been to provide world-class eye care with a personal touch. In 2025, our team was busier than ever:
- 30,000 in-office patient visits.
- 138,000 phone calls answered by our dedicated Phone Concierge Team.
- 4,000 total procedures performed (2,000 OR/Surgical and 2,000 Laser procedures).
- 3,380 pairs of glasses adjusted.
We are incredibly proud that 98% of our patients rated us 4 stars or higher. Your trust is the ultimate metric of our success.
Investing in “Our People”
We believe that great care starts with a great workplace. This year, The Eye Care Institute was honored as a Best Workplace in Kentucky recipient. We continued to invest in the experts who care for you:
- 1,120 total hours of training (900 for staff and 220 for physicians).
- Strong Roots: 50% of our staff has been with us for over 5 years, and over 25% have been part of the family for more than a decade.
- Growth: We welcomed 10 new hires to our growing team.
Innovation and New Beginnings
2025 brought significant upgrades to our facilities and technology. We introduced Optos Imaging, a state-of-the-art technology that allows many patients to delay or avoid dilation during their exams.
We also celebrated a bittersweet milestone: the retirement of Brennan P. Greene, MD. To honor his incredible legacy, we officially dedicated the Brennan P. Greene, MD Procedure Room.
Leading the Way in Clinical Trials
Butchertown Clinical Trials reached its 10th anniversary with record-breaking momentum. By participating in clinical research, we help bring tomorrow’s medicine to our patients today.
- Screened over 300 people for trial participation.
- Launched 13 new clinical trials.
- Celebrated our 24th FDA approval to date.
Community & Sustainability
Our commitment to Louisville goes beyond the clinic walls. This year, we partnered with our patients to recycle over 58 pounds and 1,300 yards of contact lens materials. Additionally, we were proud to support Norton’s Children Hospital and Home of the Innocents through charitable donations.
