Common Treatments by Age
Ages 21 to 44
Typically, a complete, dilated eye exam is recommended every 1 to 2 years
LASIK, or other laser vision correction, to correct myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia and astigmatism
Ages 45 to 60
Typically, a complete, dilated eye exam is recommended every 1 to 2 years
LASIK with additional treatments, such as the KAMRA inlay, to correct presbyopia and astigmatism
LipiFlow II and other dry eye disease treatments
Age 60 and Above
Typically, a complete, dilated eye exam is recommended every 1 to 2 years
Cataract Surgery with, or without, elective lens upgrades, to remove the cataract and offer typically-glasses-free vision for life (nearsightedness) usually treated with glasses
LipiFlow II and other dry eye disease treatments
Wet Age Related Macular Degeneration usually treated with injections of anti-VEGF medications
Dry Age Related Macular Degeneration, currently not treatable, but considerable research is being conducted
