From Exams to Surgery: Matching Your Needs to the Right Specialist
To ensure our patients receive the right care, our practice employs both optometrists and ophthalmologists.
Our highly trained optometrists specialize in diagnosing and managing most medical eye conditions, as well as providing refractions for glasses and contact lens fittings. An optometrist is the ideal doctor for glasses, contact lenses, routine eye exams, surface diseases and conditions, and acute/emergency eye care.
For surgical or procedural care beyond the scope of optometry, our ophthalmologists—who focus extensively on surgical treatment—are available for seamless in-office referrals. Ophthalmologists are medical specialists who undergo at least four years of ophthalmology residency after medical school. They are trained as eye surgeons who also treat complex or chronic eye diseases, manage a wide range of conditions, and provide acute or emergency eye care. Ophthalmologists do not typically perform the “refraction,” which is needed for an eyeglass or contact lens prescription.
We prioritize scheduling you with the appropriate provider to ensure the highest level of care is tailored to your needs.
