About Mark

Mark M. Prussian is a board-certified healthcare administrator and Chief Executive Officer of The Eye Care Institute and Butchertown Clinical Trials. Prussian has served as CEO since 1995 and is responsible for all non-clinical matters at both entities. Prussian holds a tremendous sense of pride in the organizational growth during his tenure and believes that by creating and maintaining a medical practice that requires little physician involvement in management issues, he is a conduit for helping create outstanding visual outcomes for patients, as well as clinical trials success since The Doctors of The Eye Care Institute can devote their entire workweek to providing patient care through allopathic, optometric, and clinical trials as a care option.

Prussian co-authored One Eye Or Two; Insider Secrets To Help You Choose The Right LASIK Surgeon with John C. Meyer, MD.  Prussian recognized so many of our patients were seeking additional information about what LASIK can and cannot do that he undertook this authorship project with input from John C. Meyer, MD. In May 2018, the book was the number one selling Kindle download in Medicine, earning it the honor “Amazon Best Seller.” The book is an educational tool for our patients, not a profit-seeking venture. Therefore, copies of the book are always complimentary when obtained through The Eye Care Institute.

Prussian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wayne State University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. Further, Prussian is a Certified Ophthalmology Executive and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

You may often find Prussian walking around the practice while holding a cup of coffee. In addition to chatting with patients, Prussian enjoys cardio workouts, spinning, yoga, films, and the fine arts. Prussian and his wife reside in the Brownsboro Road area.
