Our 2009 Gallopalooza Horse, Transforming Vision, was introduced last evening at a party at Churchill Downs.

The horse, part of the approximately 130 horses which will grace the streets of Louisville in this years Sidewalk Derby, was designed by artist Linda Erzinger.  Linda was one of a few artists receiving an award last night for her artistic redevelopment of the standard issue resin-based horse.  Linda added a solar panel and interior lighting to allow the horse to harness solar energy so that it will shine a light outward through the belly of the horse.  Her painting of the exterior reflect visions of blue skies and sunny days.

After a public preview at Churchill Downs, the horse will be installed near the front entrance of our Story Avenue office.

Net profits from the entire Gallopalooza event benefit Operation Brightside.  The Eye Care Institute is proud to once again fill our role as a corporate citizen by participating in this civic pride event.
