The Ford Ironman Louisville triathlon, to be held in Louisville on August 31, 2008, has named The Eye Care Institute as its official eye doctors on race day. This announcement came at the request of Norton Healthcare, www.nortonhealthcare.com, which is serving as the healthcare partner of the Ford Ironman Louisville triathlon. The triathlon includes a 2.4 mile swim in the Ohio River, a 112 mile bike course through Jefferson, Oldham and Shelby counties, and a 26.2 mile run from downtown Louisville to the southwest past Churchill Downs and back to downtown Louisville. Registration for the event is closed as all spaces are full. Hundreds of athletes are expected to participate this day long event. Physicians from The Eye Care Institute will be at various sites along the course on race day in the event eye care services are needed by any participants, race officials or spectators.
