The Eye Care Institute has answered the call of the medical community by providing medical supplies which can be used to help treat those in Haiti affected by the devastating earthquake.
Brennan Greene, MD, comprehensive ophthalmologist, along with Sean Murphy, MD, vitreo-retinal surgeon, and practice Chief Executive Officer, Mark Prussian, arranged for the donation of many items. Included among these are surgical drapes, surgical tape, sterile pillows, sterile surgical tubing, and a large quantity of prescription eye medications.
Dr Greene stated that at this time when we have so much it is imperative that we attempt to help alleviate suffering in other parts of the world. He further stated he hopes our donation of medical supplies quickly makes it way to the doctors, nurses and others providing care in Haiti. The shipment is expected to leave Louisville on January 20, 2010.
