Foods with vitamin E

Vitamin E helps to keep cells throughout the body healthy, including, of course, those in the eyes. Studies have shown that this important vitamin can help to prevent cataracts and can also keep age-related macular degeneration from getting worse. You can get vitamin E from almonds, avocados, peanut butter, and sunflower seeds. 

Foods with vitamin A

Brightly colored fruits and vegetables are a great source of vitamin A, which keeps the retina healthy, helps to prevent dry eyes, and helps night vision. Try carrots and sweet potatoes for a good dose of vitamin A. 

Foods with vitamin C

Vitamin C can help to protect the eyes from damage caused by the sun, environmental factors, and unhealthy habits. Some studies have shown that it can help to prevent cataracts. Vitamin C can be found in peaches, tomatoes, strawberries, red bell peppers, and citrus fruits such as lemons, grapefruit, oranges, and tangerines. Sweet potatoes are also an excellent source of vitamin C. To prevent vitamin C from becoming ineffective, avoid heating these foods if you can – for maximum benefit, these foods should be eaten raw.
