We wish to inform our patients and friends that Dr Carol Parker will be leaving The Eye Care Institute, effective June 11, 2019.
During Dr. Parker’s 18 year career here, she has provided thousands of patients with outstanding eye care. She has a legacy of fitting so many people in their first pair of contact lenses and has continued to provide eye care through their adulthood. More recently, she has become an expert in complex, scleral contact lenses which have, primarily, medical uses. She has the respect of colleagues, patients and referring doctors.
Dr Parker announced to us, a few months ago, that she wishes to finish her career by serving Veterans and she will be leaving us to become an optometrist at Louisville’s VA Medical Center. There, she will join a newly formed team optometrists, where among other things, they will create a new contact lens unit.
Also, some patients are involved in one presbyopia surgical implant clinical trial with Dr Parker and Dr Meyer. For those patients only, she will continue to see them at our offices in Butchertown, by appointment only.
We wish Dr Parker the very best of success, and much happiness, in her new venture. We were lucky to have had her as a Doctor of The Eye Care Institute for these past 18 years and we thank her for providing outstanding eye care!
