Mark M. Prussian is a board certified healthcare administrator and Chief Executive Officer of The Eye Care Institute. Prussian has served as CEO since 1995 and is responsible for all non-clinical matters at The Eye Care Institute including strategic planning and growth, personnel, training, budgeting, managed care, billing, contracts, purchasing, IT and computers, advertising, real estate, optical, LASIK development and clinical trials. Prussian holds a tremendous sense of pride in the growth of the institute during his tenure and believes that by creating and maintaining a medical practice that requires so little physician involvement in management issues, he is a conduit for the outstanding visual outcomes of patients since The Doctors of The Eye Care Institute are able to devote their entire workweek to providing patient care.
Prussian co-authored One Eye Or Two; Insider Secrets To Help You Choose The Right LASIK Surgeon with John C. Meyer, MD. Prussian recognized so many of our patients were seeking additional information about what LASIK can, and cannot do, that he undertook this authorship project with John C. Meyer, MD. During May 2018 the book was the number one selling Kindle download in Medicine, earning it the honor “Amazon Best Seller.” The book is designed as an educational tool for our patients, not as a profit seeking venture, and therefore, copies of the book are always complimentary when obtained through The Eye Care Institute.
Prussian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wayne State University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. Further, Prussian is a Certified Ophthalmology Executive and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
You can often find Prussian walking around the practice wearing a blue blazer and holding a cup of coffee. In addition to chatting with patients, Prussian enjoys cardio workouts, spinning, yoga, films and the fine arts. Prussian and his wife reside in the Brownsboro Road area.
